The Congress executive committee meeting was held today in Delhi for the first time after the defeat of the 5 state assembly elections. The meeting started at 4 pm and lasted for about 2 hours. Many key party executives, including Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and former president Rahul Gandhi, were present. The meeting is being held to discuss the reasons for the defeat of five states, including Uttar Pradesh and Goa.

Mallikarjun Kharge, senior leader of the Congress party, told reporters, “Sonia Gandhi will lead us as the interim leader of the Congress. Will take the next step. We all have faith in the leadership of Sonia Gandhi. ”
Another senior leader, Dinesh Kundurao, said, “Sonia Gandhi will continue to be the leader of the party. We discussed in detail about the 5 state elections. We discussed how to proceed with these issues and how to deal with the upcoming elections. ”
