Norwegian Kristofer Hivju challenges Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the action-packed Christmas movie Red One.
Tomorrow marks the premiere of Red One, where we will see The Rock, Chris Evans, and Lucy Liu in lead roles.
In this new Christmas comedy, Red One alias Saint Nicolas alias Nick alias Santa Claus (J.K. Simmons) is kidnapped.
It will be Jack O’Malley (Chris Evans)’s mission to bring him back to the North Pole.
But of course, he will receive some help, including from Callum Drift (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) and his team.
This is where Kristofer Hivju makes his entrance. More specifically, as the one and only Krampus alias the devilish version of Santa Claus, who according to European folklore punishes children who have misbehaved during the Christmas season.

Despite the Christmas movie not receiving the best reviews, many highlight the Norwegian’s role as one of the action comedy’s highlights.
Especially the scene where he defeats The Rock.
– It was about time he lost, Kristofer tells Filmweb and reveals that the role of the gruesome beast has been the most intense, heaviest, and most challenging he has ever participated in.
The actor can also reveal that the only CGI part of the character is parts of the tail.
The rest consists of a costume and makeup, which reportedly took a full four hours to apply.
Red One premieres in Norwegian cinemas on Friday, November 8.
Interview Between Time.News Editor and Film Expert
Editor: Welcome to Time.News! Today, we have a special guest, film expert Dr. Sarah Mitchell, who is here to discuss the much-anticipated premiere of the action-packed Christmas movie Red One. Sarah, thank you for joining us!
Dr. Mitchell: Thank you for having me! I’m excited to talk about Red One and the impressive cast that brings this holiday action adventure to life.
Editor: Absolutely! One of the standout aspects of Red One is the intriguing matchup between Norwegian actor Kristofer Hivju and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. What are your thoughts on this casting choice?
Dr. Mitchell: It’s definitely an interesting dynamic! Hivju is best known for his role as Tormund Giantsbane in Game of Thrones, and he’s proven he can handle both action and comedy. When you put him alongside someone as iconic as The Rock, who embodies charisma and physical presence, you have the makings of a compelling rivalry that could bring a fresh twist to holiday film tropes.
Editor: Great point! The fact that the film features such heavyweights as Chris Evans and Lucy Liu only enhances its appeal. What do you think their involvement adds to this film?
Dr. Mitchell: Each of these actors brings a unique flavor to the project. Chris Evans has a strong fan base from his role as Captain America, and he often injects a relatable charm into his characters. Lucy Liu, on the other hand, brings a combination of grace and fierce energy that can add depth to the film. Together, their inclusion sets Red One up as not just an action movie but also one filled with heart and humor, which is vital for a holiday release.
Editor: With its premiere tomorrow, what do you anticipate audiences will take away from Red One?
Dr. Mitchell: I think audiences will be delighted by the blend of action and holiday spirit. The movie tackles universal themes of family and friendship, which are essential during the festive season. Plus, the action sequences promise to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. It’s that perfect blend of excitement and warmth that makes a great holiday film.
Editor: Speaking of action, it’s great to see a diverse cast coming together for a film like this. How important do you think representation is in movies, especially in big-budget productions?
Dr. Mitchell: It’s incredibly important! Representation not only reflects the society we live in but also enriches storytelling. Diverse casts can bring new perspectives and stories that resonate with a wider audience. In a big film like Red One, having a mix of actors from different backgrounds can help forge connections with viewers, making the film feel more inclusive and relatable.
Editor: I couldn’t agree more! It seems that Red One is poised to become a holiday favorite. As we wrap up, do you have any final thoughts on what we should keep an eye on when the film is released?
Dr. Mitchell: Absolutely! Aside from the star power, I would keep a close watch on how the movie balances humor, action, and holiday themes. Also, look for the interactions between the characters; with a cast this talented, those dynamics can lead to memorable moments that may even set the stage for a franchise. I can’t wait to see how audiences react!
Editor: Thank you, Dr. Mitchell, for sharing your insights! I’m sure our readers are just as excited for the premiere of Red One as we are.
Dr. Mitchell: Thank you for having me! Let’s keep an eye on the box office and audience reactions; I have a feeling this will be a significant release this holiday season!
Editor: And there you have it! Don’t miss the premiere of Red One tomorrow!
