Israel launched a series of violent raids on the Al-Hadath area, Haret Hreik, and Tahouitet Al-Ghadir in the southern suburb of Beirut, at dawn on Thursday, in addition to raids on the Al-Awza’i area adjacent to Beirut International Airport, causing a mass exodus from the area after the Israeli army threatened to bomb it.
The recent Israeli raids targeted the southern suburb of Beirut, the Hadath area – Al-Jamous, Al-Awza’i, meters away from runway No. 17 of Beirut Airport, Tahwitet Al-Ghadir, and a fuel station and building in Haret Hreik caught fire.
The Israeli army had previously issued a threat to all residents in the southern suburb area, specifically in buildings identified on attached maps and the buildings adjacent to them in the following areas: Al-Awza’i, Haret Hreik, Tahouitet Al-Ghadir, and Hadath Beirut.
The statement added: “You are located near Hezbollah facilities and interests, against which the army will work forcefully in the near future. For your safety and the safety of your family members, you must evacuate these buildings and those adjacent to them immediately and stay away from them for a distance of no less than 500 meters.”
The Israeli raids caused a mass exodus from the Al-Ouzai area in the southern suburb of Beirut after the Israeli army threatened to bomb it.
Lebanese media also reported today, Thursday, that an Israeli raid targeted a car on the Arayya-Al-Jumhur road opposite the Church of Our Lady in Mount Lebanon, which is a main road leading to Beirut.
The Traffic Control Room announced the closure of traffic on the international road, Arayya locality, towards the public. Due to a compelling security incident.
According to the Lebanese media, the Israeli drone fired two missiles; The first one did not hit the target, so I dropped the second one on the car.
“Hezbollah”: The only Israeli achievement on the ground is the destruction of homes and civilian infrastructure
Hezbollah’s operations room in Lebanon issued a statement about the field developments of the “Aul al-Bas” battle, considering the Israeli army’s only ground achievement to be the destruction of homes and civilian infrastructure.
The statement said: “The Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance continue to confront the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy army in terms of its equipment and many officers and soldiers along the front lines of confrontation, all the way to its locations deep in occupied Palestine.”
Regarding ground confrontations, the Operations Room said:
“On October 28, 2024, the Israeli enemy army forces began advancing towards the town of Khiam with large numbers of individuals and vehicles, and with heavy air cover over the entire area surrounding and overlooking the town, amid the positioning of enemy army forces on the front lines in the areas of Tal Nahas, Al-Hamamas, and the Majidiya Plain.”
The statement continued, “In accordance with the defense plans prepared in advance, and after careful monitoring of the possible paths of advance, the Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance prepared a defense plan with fire, the main basis of which is missile and artillery fire through a large number of simultaneous attacks focused on the movements, positions and paths of the enemy’s advance inside Lebanese territory and in the occupied interior.” Over the course of three consecutive days, more than 70 targeting operations were carried out (50 of them on the southern and eastern outskirts of the town), during which 4 tanks were destroyed with guided missiles, killing and wounding their crews, and a soldier position in the Metulla settlement was targeted with a guided missile, resulting in the killing and wounding of a number of them. In addition to targeting the insurance group in the Tal Al-Nahhas area with a guided missile, the military media showed some scenes documenting the injury.”
The most prominent of these operations was “the precise missile launch that targeted large concentrations of enemy soldiers and vehicles in the Wadi al-Asafir area on the southeastern side of the town, using specific and accurate missiles whose warhead weighed 250 kilograms of highly explosive material.” As a result of the huge explosions and the large number of casualties, a state of panic and confusion prevailed among the enemy forces.”
“In addition to the missile launches and shooting that targeted the enemy’s movements inside Lebanese territory, during this operation a large number of attacks were carried out in the rear areas of the forces participating in the attack on our land in a deliberate and specific manner, and the enemy army forces were forced on Thursday night, 10/31/2024, to withdraw.” Beyond the borders, using military helicopters to transport the dead and wounded, and bringing in special mechanisms to withdraw the destroyed tanks.
The statement pointed out, “As a result of the harsh and repeated resistance strikes, and the lack of opportunity for the enemy army forces to establish and stabilize inside the villages of the edge, the enemy army deliberately withdrew from a number of towns – towards which it had advanced – beyond the border, amid extensive combing operations from the sites.” The border crossing, artillery positions, and raids by warplanes on these towns, as happened in Aita al-Shaab, Ramia, Mays al-Jabal, Blida, Khiam, and others.”
Meanwhile, repeated attempts by Israeli army forces to impose the siege on the town of Naqoura in the western sector are being dealt with, and an infiltration attempt in the Al-Wazzani area in the eastern sector was targeted with a missile launcher, forcing them to leave.
The Operations Room confirms that “the only achievement achieved by the Israeli army during the so-called ‘ground maneuver’ was the destruction of homes and civilian infrastructure and the bulldozing of agricultural lands in the border towns.”
Our mujahideen on the front line at the southern border, and due to their precise and repeated strikes, and their high ability to confront enemy incursions and destroy its tanks and vehicles, have so far been able to force the Israeli enemy forces to remain at the borders of the villages of the edge only, and to prevent them from advancing towards the villages of the second line of the front or Approaching the course of the Litani River.
The statement concluded: “The Islamic Resistance, in memory of the forty of its highest, holiest and most precious martyrs, His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, may God sanctify his honorable secret, affirms that, in its covenant and promise, it will remain loyal to the blood of its martyrs and will continue to achieve the goals for which they rose, most important of which is the elevation and dignity of its proud people, freedom and sovereignty.” Her country, and she pledges to her Secretary-General, His Eminence Sheikh Naeem Qassem, may God protect him, that she will remain steadfast on the path of the state until victory is achieved, God Almighty willing.”

Interview Between Time.news Editor and Middle Eastern Conflict Expert
Editor (E): Thank you for joining us today. Given the recent Israeli raids in the southern suburbs of Beirut, can you outline the key reasons behind these actions?
Expert (X): Absolutely. The Israeli forces are responding to ongoing tensions with Hezbollah, which has been a significantly destabilizing presence in the region. The raids are aimed at dismantling what Israel identifies as Hezbollah’s infrastructure, which they perceive as a threat to their national security.
E: It seems that the raids have caused a substantial displacement of people from areas like Al-Ouzai and Haret Hreik. What can you tell us about the humanitarian impact of these operations?
X: The humanitarian impact is severe. The Israeli military’s warning for residents to evacuate is indicative of the threat they face, encouraging mass exodus and panic. In conflict zones, such military tactics often lead to extensive civilian suffering, destruction of property, and a challenge for local authorities and humanitarian organizations in providing adequate support.
E: Hezbollah has made some bold claims about their capabilities in response to these Israeli actions. What’s your analysis of their statements and the reality on the ground?
X: Hezbollah’s discourse is largely designed to project strength and resilience, employing asymmetrical warfare tactics. Their narrative emphasizes heavy resistance to Israeli advances. However, this is also about maintaining morale among their supporters and asserting their role as a protector of Lebanese sovereignty. Their claims of losses inflicted on Israeli forces may inflate their image, particularly since much of the fighting involves guerilla tactics where numbers can be misleading.
E: According to reports, the Israeli raids targeted specific neighborhoods and infrastructure. How does that fit into the broader strategy of military operations in urban areas?
X: Targeting specific neighborhoods signals a calculated approach aimed at minimizing collateral damage while attempting to achieve clear military objectives. This is common in urban warfare; however, it raises significant ethical concerns. Infrastructure, especially civilian structures, faces destruction, which contravenes principles of proportionality and distinction under international humanitarian law.
E: The conflict seems to be escalating. What do you foresee as the next steps from both sides?
X: Tensions are likely to escalate further. On one side, the Israeli military might continue targeted operations, maintaining pressure on Hezbollah. Conversely, Hezbollah will probably seek to demonstrate its capabilities through retaliatory strikes, claiming effectiveness on the battlefield. Ultimately, both sides may head toward a more intense confrontation, placing civilians at greater risk.
E: With the ongoing instability, what can the international community do to help?
X: The international community needs to engage diplomatically to mitigate the conflict, possibly through calls for a ceasefire and an immediate end to hostilities. Humanitarian aid must also be prioritized to assist displaced populations. Additionally, robust pressure on both Israel and Hezbollah to respect civilian life and infrastructure must be part of any sustained diplomatic efforts.
E: Thank you for your insights. Your expertise is invaluable in understanding this complex situation, and we hope for a resolution that prioritizes peace and safety for all those affected.
X: Thank you for having me. I share your hope for peace and stability in the region.
