BOLZANO. There are 55 social organizations participating in the 9th Alto Adige Volunteering Fair, where all interested people will be able to find out about how to engage as volunteers. The Volunteering Fair, inaugurated today together with the Bolzano Autumn Fair, can be visited until November 10th at pavilion C/D – stand C21/50 of the Bolzano Fair.
With the slogan “Me, you, us. Together for the good!“, the social organizations will provide information on the various volunteering opportunities present in Alto Adige. Visitors will be able to interact directly with collaborators and volunteers from the various participating associations and organisations. As a novelty this year, the Volunteering Fair will also be ”On the road”: 4 organizations will organize open days to raise awareness of their respective realities, even outside the Volunteering Fair.
“The volunteering fair gives visibility to the varied and rich voluntary commitment present in our social fabric. The objective is to promote social volunteering in the area, strengthen the possibilities for exchange and present all the richness of volunteering, as expressed by the slogan: I, you, us. Together for the good!” the organizers explain, highlighting the importance of the project. The fair is organized by the provincial division for social policies together with Caritas Diocese of Bolzano-Bressanone, Federation for Social and Health, White Cross and Municipality of Bolzano“, communicates the organization.
Interview Between Time.news Editor and Volunteering Expert
Editor: Welcome to Time.news! Today, we’re discussing an exciting event in Bolzano that’s capturing the hearts of many— the 9th Alto Adige Volunteering Fair. I have with me Dr. Maria Rossi, a volunteering expert and community engagement consultant. Maria, thank you for joining us!
Dr. Rossi: Thank you for having me! It’s a pleasure to be here.
Editor: The Volunteering Fair has attracted 55 social organizations this year. What do you think makes this fair such an essential event for our community?
Dr. Rossi: The fair serves as a vital platform for various organizations to showcase their work and the myriad of volunteer opportunities available. It’s not just about recruiting volunteers; it’s about educating the public and fostering a sense of community. The slogan, “Me, you, us. Together for the good!” perfectly encapsulates the spirit of collaboration and collective effort in making our society better.
Editor: Absolutely! Can you tell us more about the types of organizations participating?
Dr. Rossi: Sure! The organizations range from environmental groups working on sustainability projects to social services that support marginalized communities. Each one has unique needs and offers different experiences, allowing potential volunteers to find a cause that resonates with their passions and skills.
Editor: That sounds inspiring! For those unfamiliar with volunteering, what can visitors expect when they attend the fair?
Dr. Rossi: Visitors can expect an immersive experience. They’ll have the opportunity to speak directly with current volunteers and organization representatives, ask questions, and sign up for various initiatives. There will also be workshops and informational sessions that delve deeper into specific topics, making it easier for newcomers to find a fit.
Editor: Are there any specific success stories or outcomes from previous fairs that stand out to you?
Dr. Rossi: Oh, definitely! In previous years, many attendees have found meaningful long-term volunteer positions through connections made at the fair. For instance, a local environmental organization reported a significant increase in volunteers who helped with reforestation projects after showcasing their efforts at the fair. It’s heartwarming to see how a single event can ignite passion and commitment in individuals.
Editor: That’s so motivating! With the fair running until November 10th, what advice do you have for those considering volunteering but may be on the fence?
Dr. Rossi: I’d advise them to simply show up and explore! Volunteering can seem daunting, but starting with small commitments or even attending an introductory session can break the ice. It’s a chance to learn about the community, meet new people, and most importantly, contribute to meaningful change.
Editor: Wise words, Maria! For anyone interested, where can they find more details about the fair?
Dr. Rossi: They can visit the Bolzano Fair’s official website or check local community boards. There will be detailed information about the organizations involved and the schedules of various activities planned for the fair.
Editor: Thank you so much for your insights, Dr. Rossi. Your passion for community engagement is contagious! We hope our audience feels inspired to visit the fair and find their calling in volunteering.
Dr. Rossi: Thank you! It’s been a pleasure, and I certainly hope to see many new faces at the fair!
Editor: That’s a wrap for today’s interview. For our viewers, don’t miss out on the opportunity to give back and connect with others. See you at the fair!
