The death of Rachid Mekhloufi, green symbol of Algerian independence

‍ Algerian and Saint-Etienne football loses one of ⁤its legends. Rachid Mekhloufi has died at 88. The ‌former​ Saint-Etienne striker⁢ made ​history at the club, with Saint-Etienne in​ the⁤ 1950s and‍ 1960s ‍and becoming a⁤ member, in the midst of ‍the Algerian war, of the FLN team created to support the independence cause .
