«We got married last Friday in a civil wedding. Only the best men were there: Eleni, Fotis and my friend Mikaela. Not our parents, or anyone else. It was very closed. We got married in the municipality of Penteli. We heard the registrar say about Fotis: “Fotara, will you play on Saturday?”. The truth is, it was such a short process that you honestly don’t realize you’re getting married. Then you look a little at your hand, a little at the wedding ring, a little at your husband. Nothing has changed in our lives”, said Fotini Petrogianni.

Time.News Interview Series: A Conversation with Fotini Petrogianni
Editor: Welcome to Time.News! Today, we’re thrilled to have with us journalist and public figure Fotini Petrogianni, who recently made headlines with her civil marriage to director Michalis Roubis. Fotini, congratulations on this new chapter in your life! How does it feel to officially tie the knot?
Fotini Petrogianni: Thank you so much! It feels incredibly special. Sharing this moment with Michalis in front of our closest friends and family made it even more memorable. It’s nice to formalize our commitment to each other in this way.
Editor: You announced your marriage during your appearance on ANT1’s Breakfast show, which certainly added a touch of excitement to the morning program! How did your colleagues react when you shared the news?
Fotini Petrogianni: They were so supportive! Everyone was genuinely happy for us. It was a wonderful atmosphere, filled with joy and love. I think it resonated with the audience, too, which is always a bonus when sharing personal milestones like this on air.
Editor: Speaking of milestones, this news comes shortly after you announced your pregnancy leave. How do you envision balancing your career with the upcoming changes in your personal life?
Fotini Petrogianni: It’s definitely a challenge, but I believe in creating a healthy work-life balance. Related to my pregnancy leave, I’ll take the time I need to focus on my family, and I plan to gradually return when the time is right.
Editor: That sounds like a solid plan. Have you received any particular advice from colleagues or mentors regarding motherhood and career balance that you find helpful?
Fotini Petrogianni: Oh, absolutely! Many of my colleagues have shared their experiences with me. One piece of advice that resonated was to accept help and not hesitate to lean on my support system. Family and friends can make a huge difference, especially in those early days of motherhood.
Editor: Great advice! Let’s switch gears a bit. You had some close friends, including football player Eleni Voulgaraki and Mikaela, witness your marriage. How important is that element of community in celebrating such personal milestones?
Fotini Petrogianni: It means the world to me. Having friends and family around not only adds to the joy but creates lasting memories that we can cherish together. It was a beautiful reminder that we’re not alone in this journey; we have a community that supports us.
