Data for Monday 14 March. The current total positives are again above the threshold of one million. The positivity rate was 14.1% with 204,877 swabs. Admissions: +228. Intensive care: +2

I’m 28.900
the new cases of Covid in Italy (yesterday there were 48,886, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 13.402.905
the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 129
(yesterday 86), for a total of 156,997 victims from February 2020.

People recovered or discharged they are altogether 12.242.669 e 25.834 those that have become negative in the last 24 hours (yesterday 36,111). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 1.003.23.equal to +3.735 compared to yesterday (+13,882 the day before).

The swabs and the scenario

I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 204.877, or 125,151 less than yesterday when they were 330,028. The rate of positivity 14.1% (the approximation of 14.11%); yesterday it was 14.8%.

Less infections in 24 hours than yesterday. As usual, the fluctuating curve touches the weekly minimum point with the Monday data, due to a lower number of swabs (those processed on Sunday). The upward trend can be seen from the comparison with last Monday (March 7), when they were recorded +22,083 almost with a rate of 11.7%: today, in fact, there are more new infections than that day, with a higher percentage (14.1% against 11.7%).

The scenario does not worry the government. We recall that even in March 2021 there was an increase in infections – after the second wave of October-January – which lasted about a month. A big difference between the current situation and that of a year ago is in the hospital impact, thanks to vaccinations: according to Agenas now the employment of intensive care is stable at 5% with the data of March 13, while exactly one year ago – March 13, 2021 – the daily trend of intensive jobs was growing and reached 33%. Furthermore, the occupancy of beds in the area is not critical today at 13% (a year ago at 37%).

Lazio reports the highest number of newly infected (+3.739 cases) followed by Puglia (+3.346). Over 2,000 are then found: Campania, Sicily (of which 812 are previous, as the note indicates), Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna.

The health system

The hospitalizations in each area increase for the second consecutive day, but slightly in resuscitation. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I’m +228 (yesterday +6), for a total of 8,468 hospitalized. The beds occupied in intensive care (TI) are +2 (yesterday +3) – this is the balance between the people who left and those who entered ICU -, bringing the total of the most seriously ill patients to 518with 32 admissions to resuscitation (yesterday 41).

There are five regions / provinces that have zero bereavement: they are Liguria, Molise, Valle d’Aosta, the province of Bolzano and the province of Trento.
