The actor Moshe Ivgi was released from prison (Monday), after the release committee decided that his sentence would be shortened. Ivgi was initially sentenced to 11 months in prison after being convicted of indecent acts on two women and sexual harassment on another woman.

Naamat chairman Hagit Peer, in response to Ivgi’s release from prison: “Moshe Ivgi is the star of a horror film with a very bad ending – victims who were harmed and an attacker with whom the justice system shows forgiveness.”

“We are very disappointed with the prosecution’s conduct and the feeling that there is no real war for justice in the case of victims of sexual assault – we have seen it here and we see it in other cases as well.”

MK Naama Lazimi (Labor) in response today (Monday) to Ivgi’s release: “The release committee has failed in a big way, the release of Moshe Ivgi is a difficult message for victims of sexual assault. “It should be released after 6 months. This is not how a country that cares about the security of its women behaves.”

“Sex offenders have to pay for their actions, go through a real rehabilitation process before they return to society. This is a painful day for victims of sexual assault. I send reinforcements to those brave women who dared to complain against him.”
