With the Karnataka High Court set to rule on the hijab case tomorrow (Tuesday), a restraining order has been issued in Bangalore till March 21.

Controversy arose over the wearing of hijab by Muslim students in Karnataka. In this context, the Government of Karnataka had issued an order on February 5 instructing schools and colleges to come in uniform only. Udupi Government Women P.U. Many, including college Muslim students, have filed lawsuits in the Karnataka High Court.

The petitions were heard on a daily basis from February 10 by a bench headed by Chief Justice Rithuraj Awasthi. After hearing arguments from both sides for 11 days, the judges adjourned the case without setting a date.

The judgment in the case will be read in the Karnataka High Court tomorrow.

Following the release of the verdict, a restraining order has been issued in Bangalore for seven days from tomorrow till March 21. Bangalore Police Commissioner Kamal Bandh has banned people from gathering in public places, holding protests and celebrations for a week.
