Point Airfryer XXL
Price: 1,799,- (Cost 699 from November 5 – 10)
Something revolutionary has happened: The air fryer has invaded Norwegian kitchens, and the rumor has it that this little machine can transform a frozen pizza into a crispy masterpiece in record time, as long as it looks big enough.
From frozen thing to a well-cooked pizza. Simple and without mess.
For anyone who wants to avoid waiting for the oven to heat up, or simply thinks that “comfort food” and “fast food” should be two sides of the same mountain slope, the air fryer sounds like a gift from above the cooking top!
Can it really deliver the perfect balance between a crispy edge and juicy filling – and maybe even make the pizza a bit healthier, or at least ready faster? We are delving into the world of air fryers to find out if it can really take on the role of Norway’s new “Grandiosa hero”.
Because we all know what we want, right?
Airfryer without beeping and fuss
We already had an air fryer at home – a Cosori, which tries to be smart. It has a “smart feature” that none of us has ever used, and it beeps just by you thinking about the word “air fryer”. Who really decided that everything we own should beep? The genius product developer can have a roll … in the air fryer, of course.
So when this new version arrived, it was almost a relief! It is both bigger and simpler. Here you can adjust the time by turning a proper, old-fashioned kitchen timer knob. And the heating setting? One button – no fuss. There is no click-menu jungle here, just straightforward cooking. This air fryer has only one goal in life: size. Yep, it can even fit a whole pizza!
An air fryer heats up faster than a regular oven, and on this model, the timer functions as an off button. This means you don’t have to worry about burnt pizza and sudden visits from handsome firefighters with axes if you happen to fall asleep after a late night out. Because yes, we’ve all been there.
Then you just have to fire it up again, and look forward to it? Or?
A well-baked pizza
We managed to place a frozen pizza in the basket without any problems. Though after doing ourselves the favor of preheating for a couple of minutes (tip: it pays off for the best result), everything went like a dream. Suddenly there was pizza in no time! Fair enough, the baking time was about the same as in a regular oven, but hey – we didn’t have to wait an eternity for the oven to heat up first. And it turned itself off as soon as the timer gave a little ping.
The air fryer also comes with a smart divider that allows you to make both fries and nuggets at the same time. Without mixing.
And the result? A wonderfully crispy and delicious pizza! We think the XXL air fryer can easily replace the small pizza ovens we keep trying to convince someone we need. As a little spice on top: It is even really easy to clean.
The perfect Christmas gift
The pizza we baked was so good that we thought we had baked it in a real pizza oven.
Is this the perfect gift for the single resident who needs pizza in a snap? Undoubtedly. And for families racing between sports, parent meetings, friend groups, and maybe a little alone time? Absolutely – just throw in the pizza and set the timer. Simple, straightforward, and smart.
The pizza turned out great, and the air fryer worked as it should for other things too. As long as you have the space, this is actually a gadget you will want to use. By the way, Point is Powers’ own brand, so you know exactly where to go to look for it or check something else.
Just one tip: The price when we checked while writing this was significantly higher than it was just a few days earlier. We would have waited for a new offer. If you can get it for 699 kroner, which was the lowest price we saw, it’s a steal, plain and simple.
Plus: Super easy to use, turns off by itself
Minus: Yet another gadget that takes up space in the kitchen
Interview between Time.news Editor and Air Fryer Expert
Time.news Editor: Welcome to the show! Today, we’re diving into a kitchen revolution that’s taken Norway by storm—the air fryer! We’re fortunate to have Chef Lisa, an expert in modern cooking technologies, here with us today. Lisa, thanks for joining!
Chef Lisa: Thank you for having me! I’m excited to talk about the air fryer phenomenon!
Time.news Editor: So, let’s start with the Point Airfryer XXL, which is being marketed as a game-changer. What makes this air fryer different from others on the market?
Chef Lisa: The Point Airfryer XXL really focuses on ease of use. Unlike some of the more complex models, this one is incredibly user-friendly. It has straightforward controls—a classic timer knob and a single button for heat settings—no confusing menus or endless beeping sounds! Plus, its capacity is impressive—you can fit a whole pizza in there!
Time.news Editor: Right? There’s something appealing about knowing you can whip up a crispy pizza without waiting for the oven to heat up. How does it achieve that perfect balance between a crispy exterior and a juicy filling?
Chef Lisa: The air fryer uses rapid hot air circulation to cook food quickly and evenly. The heating element is positioned to maximize efficiency, which means you can achieve that crunchy texture without deep frying. This air fryer is designed to enhance flavors while reducing the amount of oil needed—making meals healthier!
Time.news Editor: That sounds like an ideal scenario for busy families or anyone wanting a quick meal. I’ve heard that some air fryers can make cooking more of a hassle due to their noise level. How does the Point Airfryer XXL handle that?
Chef Lisa: One of the standout features is its quiet operation. Many users find it refreshing that this model doesn’t beep incessantly when cooking is done or when it’s time to check the food. It’s all about simplifying the experience, making it less of a chore and more enjoyable.
Time.news Editor: Speaking of enjoyment, we can’t ignore one of the greatest pleasures: comfort food. Does this air fryer truly hold its own when it comes to “fast food” and “comfort food,” especially here in Norway where pizza is a staple?
Chef Lisa: Absolutely! Many users have reported that the air fryer can deliver a pizza that’s just as satisfying, if not more so, than what you’d get from a traditional oven. The crispy crust and evenly cooked toppings can transform a frozen pizza into a masterpiece in no time. In fact, the Point Airfryer XXL achieves that delightful crispiness while cutting down on some of the grease typically associated with frying.
Time.news Editor: There’s always been a debate on whether air-fried foods can ever compare to their traditionally cooked counterparts. Do you think this lifestyle change is paving the way for healthier eating habits?
Chef Lisa: Definitely, yes! Air fryers offer an approachable way to make healthier versions of our favorite dishes. By using less oil, you can indulge in the foods you love while being more mindful about nutrition. It’s that perfect blend of convenience and health that makes it enticing!
Time.news Editor: Before we wrap up, what advice do you have for someone who’s new to air frying?
Chef Lisa: Start simple! Begin with frozen goods like fries or chicken nuggets to gain familiarity. And don’t forget to preheat the air fryer—this small step can make a big difference in the final result. Experiment, adjust cooking times, and most importantly, have fun with it!
Time.news Editor: Fantastic insights, Lisa! Thank you for shedding light on this exciting kitchen device. It seems the Point Airfryer XXL has the potential to be the next “Grandiosa hero” in Norway’s kitchens!
Chef Lisa: Thank you for having me! I think many will embrace this technology as part of their cooking routine.
