Marco Angulo, one of the jewels of the Ecuadorian Championship, died in a traffic accident at the age of 22. The accident happened last month, and the player succumbed to his injuries. LDU confirmed the death of the young athlete last Tuesday. Two others lost their lives in the tragedy.
Angulo was considered one of Ecuador’s most promising talents in recent years. International press outlets highlighted his importance to Independiente del Valle’s victory in the U20 Libertadores.
With his performance in the tournament, the player was selected for the team’s main team and later signed a contract with Cincinatti, from MLS, the American soccer league. In March of this year, Angulo came to LDU with the air of a star, known as “King of Hearts”.
