New Delhi: Tata Sons has announced the appointment of Chandrasekaran as the new Chairman of Air India.

Despite the appointment of Chandrasekaran as the new Chairman of Air India, the search for the CEO is still ongoing. In October last year, the Tata Group won the bid to buy Air India. Tata Sons has acquired Air India for nearly Rs 18,000 crore.

Following this, Ilgar IC, the former chairman of Turkey Airlines, announced its intention to appoint Ilker IC to the post of CEO, but Ilker IC did not want to accept the post of CEO of Air India, following opposition from some organizations to his appointment.

In this context, Chandra Sehgaran, who is currently the Chairman of Tata Sons, has been selected as the Chairman of Air India.
