Gardelegen (Saxony-Anhalt) – “My cow has to be here somewhere.” Reiner Haseloff (68, CDU) recently at an appointment in the Altmark for mood. There was nothing to laugh about.
In fact, Haseloff is no longer just the godfather of numerous triplets in the country. In the meantime, “Hilla” is a real cattle on the sponsorship list.
With her milk, the cow from the stable of the Biohof Becker in Kirchdorf Wiepke (Altmarkkreis Salzwedel) ensures that almost every morning at the Haseloffs there is cheese from the Bauer Freigeist dairy on the breakfast table. “Our absolute favorite is the Camembert,” reveals the Prime Minister.
The colourful, 1.2 kg organic cheese range is delivered free of charge, as required. In return, the Haseloffs pay just under 50 euros per package for the “adoption” of “Hilla”. Apparently to their complete satisfaction. “We have just extended the sponsorship by one year,” said the head of government.
“A model that everyone can use,” says organic farmer Linda Becker (35). The owner of “Hilla” and 300 other cows markets the adoption packages via the internet platform “crowdfarming.com”.
Haseloff’s wife Gabriele (68) also came across “Hilla” there. According to the motto “The village’s money for the village”, the family wanted to support a company from Saxony-Anhalt in this way.
In the meantime, love no longer only goes through the stomach. “At the next opportunity we want to visit ‘Hilla’ in the stable or on the pasture,” says Haseloff.
