Sonia demands resignation of five PCC presidents

by time news

New Delhi | Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi has asked PCC presidents in all the five states where assembly elections were held to resign. Congress presidents from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur should resign.

With this, Punjab Congress president Sidhu and others will lose their seats. The Congress had suffered a humiliating defeat in Punjab. Sidhu and former chief minister Charanjit Singh had failed miserably. The move comes amid calls for a change in the Congress national leadership to take responsibility for the Assembly election debacle.
