Mecca: The second phase of the free trial run of the Mecca Bus Project has begun. The test run of buses on routes six, seven and twelve of the Makkah, Mashair and Royal Commission began yesterday through the Unified Transport Center in Makkah. These routes connect the Central Area, the Haramin Express train and Umm al-Qura University.

The service on the new routes will be a great relief to the residents and visitors of Makkah. The plan to launch the Mecca Bus project on all its routes to complete the project by 2022 is in progress under the supervision of the Royal Commission.

This initiative on the Pilgrimage Service Path is one of the major projects of Vision 2030. When the project is completed, it will operate 22 hours a day, according to the Royal Commission’s Mecca Bus project spokesman. Ryan Hasmi said. The existing routes will have bus services for pilgrims during Ramadan and Hajj season. The spokesperson said that they will work in collaboration with various departments for this.
