As on December last year, banks had recovered Rs 7.34 lakh crore from bad debts and delisted loans, according to Bhagwat Karat, Union Finance Minister.
In a written reply to a question raised at the state level on Tuesday:
Banks have recovered Rs 7,34,542 crore from overdue loans for the last six fiscal and the first six months of the current fiscal till December. This includes Rs 55,895 crore raised by Boko as debt fraud.
During the April-December period of 2021-22, bank loan fraud stood at Rs 648 crore.
