15th IPL The 20-over cricket tournament starts in Mumbai on the 26th. The Delhi Capitals will take on former champions Mumbai Indians in their first league match on the 27th.
Ricky Ponting (Australia) is the head coach of the Delhi Capitals. The assistant coaches are Praveen Amre, Ajit Agarkar and the bowling coach is James Hobbs (Australia). Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson was appointed as an assistant coach in this position yesterday.
Watson, 40, has played 59 Tests, 190 ODIs and 58 Twenty20 Internationals for Australia. As well as the IPL. He played for the Rajasthan Royals, the 2008 champions, and later played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
He next played for the Chennai Super Kings and was instrumental in helping the team win the 2018 trophy.
He said goodbye to all forms of cricket in 2020. IPL Watson, who will be coaching for the first time in the tournament, said: ‘I have incredible memories as a player in the IPL, the best 20-over tournament in the world.
He now has the opportunity to work as a coach under Ponting’s leadership. He was an amazing captain and is currently one of the best coaches in the world. I can learn a lot from him. I look forward to it. ‘
