Bhagwant Mann will be sworn in as the 25th Chief Minister of Punjab today. The inauguration ceremony will be held at Khatkar Kalan, the birthplace of legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. The swearing-in is at 12.30 pm. More than five lakh people are expected to attend.

“Three crore people in Punjab will be the chief minister with me. This will be your own government. I request everyone to be present at the function to be held in Khatkar Kalan on March 16 to support your brother, ”Chief Minister-designate Bhagwant Mann wrote on Twitter. Mann had requested the men attending the ceremony to wear yellow turbans and the women to wear yellow shawls.

Many dignitaries, including Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal, are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony. The swearing-in ceremony tent is spread over 50 acres. It has a seating capacity of one lakh. Parking facilities are also provided on 50 acres. 8,000 to 10,000 policemen will be deployed for security.

However, it is learned that only Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will be sworn in today. The AAP had said that the swearing in of 16 ministers would take place later. The decision has been taken on the names of ten ministers in the Punjab cabinet. The list includes Harpal Singh Cheema, Aman Arora, Meth Higher, Jeevan Jyot Kaur, Kultar Sandwan, Charanjit, Kulwand Singh, Anmol Gaganman, Sarvjit Kaur and Baljinder Kaur.
