Victorious over Salamanca and Olympiakos respectively this Wednesday, the Landaises and the Berruyères continue their European journey.
Bourges and Basket Landes qualified on Wednesday for the second round of the women’s basketball Euroleague during the 5th day, which finally smiled on Villeneuve-d’Ascq, winner for the first time of the season in all competitions.
The Landes won with difficulty at home against Salamanca (59-58) and are sure to finish, before the last day, in one of the top three places in Group A with three wins and two defeats.
The Berruyères find themselves in the same situation with the same record in group B after having had fewer difficulties against Olympiakos (82-62, 47-20 at halftime).
Both will try next Wednesday, respectively against Schio (Italy) and Brno (Czech Republic), to obtain a fourth success to enter the round of 16 in a better position.
Villeneuve-d’Ascq, meanwhile, joined Polkowice in Pool C (a win for both teams) dominating them at the Palacium (100-83) after a run of 11 defeats in all competitions earlier in the season.
The reigning European vice-champions and French champions are still alive. But they did not make up for the particular difference compared to the Poles and will therefore have to win in Zaragoza and bet on Polkowice’s defeat at Fenerbahçe to grab the last ticket.
How can Berruyères build on their recent success to advance further in European competition?
