Jeju Air announced on the 21st that it won the ‘BEST BRAND’ award at the 23rd Global Standard Management Awards hosted by the Korea Management Certification Board (KMR).
The Global Standard Management Awards is a comprehensive award held by KMR every year since 2002 and objectively evaluates the management strategy and future value of a company in 12 areas, including green management and transparent management. The Best Brand Award received by Jeju Air this time is an award that selects the most innovative and eco-friendly company of the year, and is characterized by reflecting evaluation indicators not only from judges but also from actual customers.
In particular, Jeju Air received this Best Brand Award for leading the industry’s ESG management, including obtaining environmental management system (ISO14001) certification based on its environmental management strategy, expanding environment-related investments, and publishing the first sustainability management report among national low-cost carriers (LCCs). Proven through awards.
Jeju Air is also putting a lot of effort into environmental management from a business perspective. Representative examples include the introduction of a next-generation aircraft (B737-8) with improved fuel efficiency, operation design and efficiency improvement based on quantitative data, resource circulation through upcycling of aviation waste materials, and biodiversity conservation activities.
A Jeju Air official said, “We will strive to realize sustainable growth for consumers, the environment, and society together through systematic ESG (environmental, social, and governance) management strategies and practices.”
Meanwhile, Jeju Air received thehighest grade of A+ in the environmental and social sectors in the 2024 ESG evaluation of listed companies announced by the Korea ESG Standards Service (KCGS) last month. The governance sector received a B+ and was ranked as an overall A grade.
