The book “From the notebook of Khayyam Hadi ogly Mirzazadeh” was published, which included memories, stylistic and humorous notes, instructive stories from the life and work of the master of music, a prominent representative of the national school of composers, holder of the state orders “Shohrat” and “Sharaf”, People’s Artist Azerbaijan Khayyam Mirzazadeh (1935-2018), reports Day.Az. He wrote these notes in his notebook.
The compiler of the publication is the sister of a prominent musician, professor of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Baku State University, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Chimnaz Mirzazade.
Khayyam Mirzazadeh is one of those rare composers who found their own symphonic language and style, creating a large number of unique examples of chamber, dramatic and film music. Among them are “Triptych”, “Essays-63”, “Pianto”, “Concerto for Violin and Orchestra”; music for the films “My Seven Sons”, “Our Street”, “Country Season”, etc. Among the film music created by Khayyam Mirzazadeh, there are compositions for the films “Country Season” (1985) and “Country House for One Family” (1978), the action of which takes place in Absheron villages.
In the 60s, he began his teaching career at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli (now the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli) as a senior assistant to Gar Garayev (1918-1982). Later, in 1969-1983, he became head of the composition department. He devoted about 50 years of his life to teaching, passing on the accumulated knowledge and experience to his students, whose work he was interested in even after completing their studies. Until the last days of his life, he wrote music and gave advice to his graduates. His works are still performed today in Austria, England, Hungary, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, France and other countries, without losing their relevance.
