As for major promotions, Executive Director Kim Dong-chun, who is in charge of the electronic materials business such as OLED and semiconductor materials, and Executive Director Jang Ki-ryong, who is in charge of Chief Human Resources Officer (CHO), were promoted to Vice President, respectively.
Vice President Kim Dong-chun is an expert with experience in promoting new businesses and operating businesses in the electronicmaterials field, and has held key positions in the materials field at LG Chem, including the head of the semiconductor materials business and the head of the high-performance materials business department. He was appointed head of the Electronic Materials Business Department in December 2022 and is evaluated to have strengthened customer partnerships and led performance creation related to OLED materials, semiconductor materials, and electric vehicle (e-Mobility) materials. In recognition of his expertise and performance in the electronic materials business, he was promoted to vice president and appointed as head of the advanced materials business division.
Vice President Jang Ki-ryong is an HR strategy expert with a master’s degree in human resource management from the University of Minnesota and has extensive experience with holding companies and affiliates such as LG, LG Electronics, and LG Household & Health Care. Last December, he took office as LG Chem’s CHO and established and implemented HR strategies to advance the business portfolio. It is evaluated that it has contributed to strengthening business competitiveness through effective HR strategies.
Executive Director Kim Ho-geun increased purchasing efficiency through cost innovation and the establishment of a global purchasing standard process, and took on the position of head of the Americas BS Group starting in December 2022, seeking to secure competitiveness in new investments in the region. He was evaluated for actively supporting the strengthening of business capabilities and was placed on the promotion list. Executive Director Noma Kim led the research and development of major petrochemical products such as synthetic rubber, acrylic, and super absorbent polymer (SAP). Starting in December 2022, he was appointed as the head of the CTO’s basic technology research center, and is evaluated to have created achievements in accelerating growth engines, such as the development of eco-friendly element technologies.
Executive Director Park Ki-soon is considered an expert in the field of production and processing, having served as the head of the production group at the petrochemical Daesan plant and the head of the engineering materials production center. Since taking office as head of the production group at the petrochemical plant in Yeosu in December last year, he has led the establishment of a sustainable manufacturing environment and advancement of environmental safety levels. Executive Director Lee Ji-woong has been in charge of M&A (mergers and acquisitions) since 2018, and has promoted inorganic growth in growth engine areas such as battery materials, sustainability, and new drugs, contributing to the advancement of the business portfolio and strengthening business competitiveness. was recognized.
