A 14th century lead sarcophagus was discovered under the nave of Notre-Dame de Paris

A lead sarcophagus probably dating from the 14th century was discovered during preventive excavations at Notre-Dame de Paris. According to Inrap and given the quality of its preservation, it could be the remains of a high dignitary. The excavations must last until March 25 before starting the restoration work on the cathedral.
