During the extraordinary session of the General University Council of the University of Guadalajara (UdG) this Friday, November 22, with 112 votes in favor, the Dr. Karla Alejandrina Planter Pérez was chosen as the first General Rector of the UdG.
The University of Guadalajara He dedicated a few words to the academic through his social networks, in which he pointed out the vision of progress that he believes with the direction of Professor Planter:
“We are sure that his leadership will lead the way towards a more equitable, sustainable university prepared to face the challenges of the future. “His vision will be key to continue transforming our school for the benefit of the entire community.”

Planter Pérez, who is currently rector of the Los Altos University Center, will succeed Ricardo Villanueva in the position starting from 2025 to 2031. Then, she will be the first woman to occupy the General Rectorship of the University of Guadalajara since its foundation.
