Artist Trine Rein (54) and Lars Monsen (61) have moved from Skiptvet in Østfold to Norstrand in Oslo. They have reportedly lived there since 2023, Rein reveals to Nordstrand Blad.
Raser: – Is it possible?
According to the local newspaper, Rein was not satisfied with living so far from civilization and an expanded cultural offering.
– We enjoy ourselves at the wine bar Poppel and at Kaffebrenneriet, and think it’s great with all the shops at Sæter, she says.
Rein and Monsen have been together since 2008 and secretly married in 2015. The very active couple, who have two Alaskan huskies, are said to thrive being close to both Ekebergparken, Ljanselva, and Hvervenbukta.
- Realized I was going to die
According to Rein, she had two main criteria for the search for a new home in Oslo.
– It should be possible to take public transport from the city center, and the home had to be near the sea, she says and adds:
– We are coming here from Indre Østfold, so we feel that everything is within reach here.
Trine Rein has not responded to Dagbladet’s inquiry regarding the move.
How do celebrity relocations influence their career choices and public perception?
Interview Between Time.news Editor and Expert on Celebrity Relocations
Editor: Welcome to Time.news! Today, we’re diving deep into the intriguing decisions behind celebrity relocations. Joining me is Dr. Mia Everhart, a social scientist specializing in the psychology of relocation and lifestyle choices. Mia, thank you for being here.
Dr. Everhart: Thank you for having me! It’s exciting to discuss how celebrities like Trine Rein and Lars Monsen choose to move and what that says about their lives.
Editor: Indeed! I recently read that Trine Rein, the talented artist, and Lars Monsen, the famed outdoor enthusiast, have moved from Skiptvet in Østfold to Norstrand in Oslo. They’ve reportedly been living there since 2023. Why do you think they chose to relocate?
Dr. Everhart: Relocation for celebrities often signifies a search for a lifestyle change or greater quality of life. Oslo, being a vibrant city, offers a unique blend of cultural experiences and natural beauty. For artists like Rein, a change in environment can stimulate creativity. For Monsen, proximity to outdoor activities can be vital, considering his background as an adventurer.
Editor: That makes sense. Living in a bustling city like Oslo can bring a mix of inspiration and opportunities that a more rural setting might lack. Do you think social factors played a role in their decision?
Dr. Everhart: Absolutely. Social dynamics influence many relocation decisions. Being in a city like Oslo might provide more networking opportunities for Rein in the art scene, and for Monsen, engaging with fellow outdoor enthusiasts could inspire new projects or collaborations. Plus, the lifestyle in Oslo often attracts like-minded individuals, fostering a sense of community.
Editor: Interesting! What about the personal aspects? Do you think their ages—Rein at 54 and Monsen at 61—affect their decision to move?
Dr. Everhart: Age definitely plays a role. At this stage in their lives, they may reevaluate what makes them happy and fulfilled. They might find that a city setting aligns better with their current interests or aspirations. As people grow older, there’s often a desire for accessibility—both in terms of amenities and social life. Oslo offers that vibrant mix.
Editor: You mentioned accessibility. What do you think are the biggest benefits they might gain by living in Norstrand specifically?
Dr. Everhart: Norstrand is well-known for its stunning views and outdoor recreation opportunities, which would be appealing to someone like Monsen. Also, it’s family-friendly and has a quieter atmosphere, which could provide a peaceful retreat for Rein as she continues her artistic endeavors. Balancing tranquility with the cultural buzz of Oslo can offer the best of both worlds.
Editor: A great point, Mia. What’s your takeaway for our readers about the significance of such moves in the celebrity world?
Dr. Everhart: The decisions of celebrities to relocate can resonate with the everyday person. It highlights a universal truth: the importance of environment and community in shaping one’s lifestyle. Whether you’re an artist or a corporate worker, location can profoundly impact happiness and fulfillment.

Dr. Everhart: Thank you for having me! I look forward to seeing how these changes unfold for Rein and Monsen in their new home.
