Muslim organizations in Karnataka will go on strike on Thursday in protest of a high court order upholding a government order banning hijab in educational institutions.
The decision was announced by Karnataka Emir E Shariat Maulana Sageer Ahmad Khan Rashadi. Also on Wednesday, students wearing hijabs were barred from entering various educational institutions in Karnataka. There were protests in most places. Udupi Govt files petition in HC Six students from PU College did not attend college. Police have registered a case against four Popular Friends for forcibly closing shops in Bhatkal in Uttara Kannada.
