Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev held a conversation with the Minister of Youth and Sports Georgi Glushkov. This was announced by the press centre of the Council of Ministers.
The topic of the conversation was the unpaid bonuses of the weightlifters and coaches for the medals from the Paris Olympics.
Prime Minister Glavchev demanded an urgent decision from Minister Glushkov.
The premiums of our weightlifters and coaches for the Paris medals have not yet been paid due to a new dispute between the federation and the sports ministry.
In a letter dated November 15, Minister Georgi Glushkov informed the federation that the premiums were not paid due to the inclusion of Ivan Ivanov as head coach.
In order not to withhold the contestants’ funds, the minister insists on a new allocation from the federation.
