– We have of course dealt with this internally, says sports director Erik Nevland at Viking to VG.
The matter revolves around the red card given to Haugesund keeper Egil Selvik over the weekend.
It came after referee Kristoffer Hagenes issued a second yellow card for a hand in the face of Vikings’ Christian Cappis. The American went down, but has since been accused of diving.

Nevland does not wish to comment further to VG, but refers to Aftenbladet, which has spoken with Viking’s coaches.
– We have had a good talk with Christian about that incident and said what we think about what happened. It comes down to acting or overacting. We have made that clear to him. Viking players should stay on their feet in such situations. We support “fair play”, as it has always been, says Morten Jensen to Aftenbladet.
Cappis himself admits his mistake to the same newspaper.
– Looking back at the situation… I should not have gone down like that. It happened in the heat of the game. Now we have had an internal meeting and talked it out. Now the focus is on the Brann match, says the midfielder.
TV 2’s experts were among those who criticized Cappis’ behavior.
– It’s embarrassing to throw yourself there, said Erik Thorstvedt.
– Just let this go. Just nonsense. Selvik does it with a smile, said Jesper Mathisen.
– There is no doubt that it is diving, said Joacim Jonsson in VG’s studio.
– My assistant sees an arm in the face. We have guidelines from UEFA and NFF that there should not be arms in the face. The second yellow card is given with full justification after arms up there, so we understand that it will be discussed, he said to TV 2.
