Batting first in the Karachi Test between Pakistan and Australia, Australia scored 556 runs. But the Pakistan team rolled to just 148 runs. Australia declared their second innings at 97 with a lead of 408.
Following this, Pakistan chased down a difficult target of 506 runs in the last 2 days of the match. The Pakistan team chased down that almost impossible target immensely. Babur Assam’s superb century (196), Rizwan’s (104) and Abdullah Shafiq’s superb batting (96) helped Pakistan reach 443 for seven on the final day. With this 196 runs, Babur Assam holds the record for most runs scored by a captain in the 4th innings of Test cricket. The list is topped by Don Bradman (173 *), followed by Virat Kohli (156) and Ricky Ponting (141). Babur Assam has broken the record of these legendary cricketers. Test legend Brian Larawe, who has amassed 400 runs in Test cricket, has scored only 153 runs in the last innings.
