BOLZANO. The Carabinieri Company of Bressanone, with the support of the vipiteno Command, conducted a decisive blitz to dismantle a cocaine dealing network rooted in the municipality of Varna.
The operation, called “Flavus”, ended with the execution of a precautionary residence ban on three men, all foreigners of Tunisian origin and present irregularly on Italian territory.
Four other people, also of Tunisian origin, were reported for violations related to illegal residence on Italian territory. the searches carried out in two homes used by members of the criminal network led to the seizure of 55 grams of cocaine, already divided into doses ready for dealing, drug packaging material and a precision scale.
The investigation, coordinated by the bolzano Public Prosecutor’s Office, was launched in May 2024 following numerous reports from citizens, concerned about growing drug trafficking in a public car park in Varna.
The investigative investigations – specifies the Carabinieri – have made it possible to document a vast trafficking ring and to recover several doses of cocaine, as well as to report numerous buyers to the Government Commissariat of the Province of Bolzano. The operation - underlines the Carabinieri - highlighted the capillarity of the drug dealing network, which used a public car park in Varna as a reference point for sales.
The investigations documented a high number of cocaine transactions, involving buyers from Bressanone, Varna and the surrounding areas, up to and including an area that includes the Isarco Valley, the Funes Valley, the Pusteria Valley and the Vipiteno area. This data underlines the danger of the institution, capable of extending its influence over a vast user base and exploiting its network to consolidate illicit trafficking.
