Cheongdo-gun (Governor Kim Ha-su) won the grand prize in the education and youth categories at the ‘2024 Local Autonomy Content Awards Ceremony’ held at the main auditorium of the National Assembly Hall in Seoul on the 27th.
The ‘2024 Local autonomy Content Awards’ is a prestigious awards ceremony co-hosted by local Autonomy TV,the Korea Local autonomy Association,and the Korean Society for Humanities Contents and sponsored by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the National Assembly Public Governance and Security Committee. This award comprehensively reviews a total of five items to discover and award excellent policies and innovative cases from local governments and councils across the contry.
Cheongdo-gun received great attention by submitting various life-long learning happy city creation policies as excellent examples, including the Cheongdo Human Resources Development Department, the first regional specialized department in the country. Cheongdo Human Resources Development Department provides regionally tailored educational benefits and plays a key role in nurturing local talent and developing the community.
In addition, we are pursuing leading policies for the inflow and settlement of young people, and helping young people take root in the region, such as rent support for young people and support for starting businesses. These policies promoted regional revitalization, and their achievements were recognized by winning the local government content award.
Cheongdo County Governor Kim Ha-su said, “This award is an achievement achieved together with the residents of Cheongdo County, and we will continue to discover innovative policies and promote citizen-centered policies to create a better Cheongdo.”
Meanwhile, Cheongdo-gun held a presentation on the results of the 2024 Rural New Vitality Plus Project in the conference room of the Cheongdo-gun Agricultural Technology Center on the 27th.
At this presentation, more than 100 people, including the promotion committee, 12 action groups, and intermediate support organizations in the region, participated and had time to share the results of projects carried out in 2024.
The presentation on this day was conducted in the following order: a time to display and evaluate products developed as results of each project, and a presentation of commercialization results by action group fostered by the rural New Vitality Plus Project Promotion Team (Director Choi Hee-young).
The Rural New Vitality Plus Project is a project that establishes a foundation for regional self-reliant growth and revitalizes the local economy led by residents by utilizing local assets and private organizations to develop local specialized industries and create jobs.
Director Choi Hee-young said, “We will work closely with coordinators and othre management staff to accelerate the promotion of the project so that the action groups that announced their results today can grow one step further and become a catalyst for revitalizing the local economy.”
Cheongdo County Governor Kim Ha-su said, “Today’s Rural New Vitality Plus Project performance presentation was a meaningful time as I was able to see at a glance the process by which the efforts of the 12 action groups came to fruition.” He added, “We have achieved great results throughout the year.” “I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has worked hard for this project, and I think we have the potential to achieve better results in the future.” he added, “I hope that we will be more active and revitalize the region.” “I look forward to it,” he said.
