Moss held off with a 3-2⁣ victory ⁤against Kongsvinger and is ⁣ready for the final ⁤hurdle in the qualification⁣ for‍ Eliteserien. The⁤ Moss team can now‌ reach the top division for⁢ the first time since 2002.

Sunday, ⁢December 1 at 15:55

Kongsvinger managed at the⁢ last minute to scrape through to sixth⁢ place in the 1st division which‌ gave them a promotion ‌qualification, but after victories in qualification against⁤ Lyn and Egersund, it came to a halt in ‌Moss.

Two KIL⁤ own goals⁤ and a⁣ good Sebastian ⁢Pedersen ‌for Moss made the difference⁣ between the teams, in a match where Kongsvinger managed to create tension ⁢until the very end.

Moss scored ⁢early in both halves, after six minutes when an unfortunate Jesper Grundt put the ball into⁢ his own net and after⁢ 46⁤ minutes when Sebastian Pedersen scored via a KIL leg after ‌a cheeky turn.

Lucas Haren reduced ⁤with a penalty kick shortly after, but then Kongsvinger scored another own ⁤goal ⁣when Fredrik Holmé sent the ball into ⁤his own net ‍after a clever jump over by Pedersen.

After‍ just over an hour, ‍Haren scored again, with a ‌goal that possibly ⁣was offside, but despite some good KIL‌ chances toward ⁢the end, no further goals came.

Now Moss‌ will play a double match against the team that ends in⁤ 14th place ⁢in ⁣Eliteserien, which ⁤most likely will be Haugesund. The matches⁣ will be played on Thursday and Sunday next week.

Moss has not played in⁤ the top ⁤division in Norway since 2002‍ and was all the way down in the 3rd division ⁢in 2017.
