The drama of “full self-driving” continues …

The latest episode in the saga in which Tesla FSD’s innovative software received partial approval to travel on US roads, but in which the ZeroHodge website also reported a partial recall of the company’s vehicles due to software disruption – culminated this week when car giant Petra Oved after posting a YouTube video His car enters a traffic column using the automatic self-driving (FSD) option.

Now the former employee, John Burnell, will receive a ‘separation agreement’ from the company after the video received 180,000 views.

About 2 minutes into the video a little over 9 minutes long his 3 model encounters the traffic page, with just before that the driver praises the system for slowing down to let another car pass and for a successful transition from the far right lane to a left turn while getting to a traffic light.

However, when the Model 3 completes the turn, it has a hard time finding the right path to turn to.

After about 2 minutes and 40 seconds, the car drives at a red light and turns right without stopping, and Burnell’s Model 3 encounters the traffic column less than a minute later.

“I hurt it. This is the first for me,” Burnell says in the video. The employee’s terms of dismissal were never put in writing, but he said “he was told it was due in part to incorrect use of FSD.”

Meanwhile, Tesla claims to run the FSD beta on nearly 60,000 vehicles in the US. Burnell’s YouTube channel, AI Addict, has more than 8,300 subscribers.

Burnell’s channel was known to include both positive and negative feedback on Tesla’s software, unlike many Tesla zealots who choose to only emphasize the good when talking about full self-driving.
