Dhaka: The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is distancing itself from Chinmoy Krishna Das in Bangladesh. ISKCON has also informed about the removal of Das from all posts.ISKCON has said that his working style should not be linked to the association. Chinmoy Krishna Das has been arrested on charges of treason. Since his arrest on Monday, violence and demonstrations have been seen in many cities of Bangladesh. This also includes the death of lawyer Saiful Islam in Chittagong. According to HT report, ISKCON Bangladesh General Secretary Charu Chandra Brahachari said on Thursday that Chinmoy Krishna Das has been removed from all posts due to indiscipline. Their actions do not represent our religious organization. Charu Chandra said that ISKCON has nothing to do with the activities of Chinmoy Krishna Das.

The ISKCON General Secretary said that Leelaraj Gaur das, gaurang Das, and Chinmoy Krishna Das were removed from all organizational positions within ISKCON for violations of discipline.It is indeed very clear that his works do not represent ISKCON. Charu Chandra Das has also said that blaming ISKCON for the death of lawyer Saiful Islam is wrong. He said that efforts are being made to wrongly link the death of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif in Chittagong with ISKCON.
Charu Chandra further said, ‘We want to make it clear that ISKCON Bangladesh has no role in the death of the lawyer and the protests in Chittagong. ISKCON has never been involved in communal activities. ISKCON always promotes unity and harmony. This statement by Charu Chandra has come after the decision of Dhaka High Court, in which the court has rejected the petition demanding ban on ISKCON.
