Valdmane is the current deputy state secretary of the Ministry of Health for health policy issues, and has worked in this position for the past three years.
Valdmane obtained medical education and a master’s degree in social sciences in management. She worked in the Pharmaceutical Inspectorate, VI, and also headed the Ministry of Health’s Medical Quality department and the Health Care Department of the Ministry of Health.
Highlighting the priority directions of action under the management of the VI, Valdmane emphasizes monitoring the availability of medicines in connection with changes in the drug pricing model from the new year, focusing on patient safety, including patient experience issues, and also strengthening the human resources of the VI.
valdmane was selected for the position in accordance with the procedure established by the State Civil Service Law, provided by the Ministry of the Interior. From the new year, “on the basis of mutual agreement”, the previous director of the inspection, Anita Slokenberga, will leave her position.
Slokenberg led VI from May 2021.This year, she was awarded the Letter of Gratitude of the Ministry of the Interior for her meaningful contribution to the betterment of health care and public education.
