MAINTENANCE – Now an Alfa Romeo driver, the Finn has turned the page on five complicated years from a personal point of view at Mercedes, where he lived with Lewis Hamilton.
180 degree turn for Valtteri Bottas. After five seasons and as many constructor titles at Mercedes, the Finnish driver has been dismissed in favor of the promising George Russell, who will form a 100% British tandem with the Silver Arrows with seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. For his part, Bottas immediately rebounded on the side of Alfa Romeo, a team stuck at the back of the grid last year which he nevertheless appreciates “the human dimension“. Looking to the future and promising new regulations for the show, it is a appeased Bottas who delivered himself by video from Bahrain, on the eve of the start of the 2022 Formula 1 season, his tenth in the elite of motorsport.
