Polio panic: The Ministry of Health announced today (Thursday) that preliminary findings of the virus have been found inside the sewage systems of the cities of Beit Shemesh, Modi’in Illit and Tiberias. It was also reported that the Ministry of Health is conducting additional tests to confirm the initial findings.
Also, the professional staff of the Ministry of Health called on parents to make sure that their children are vaccinated according to the vaccination routine, and to act and vaccinate as soon as possible the children who have not yet been vaccinated against polio.
As you may recall, at the beginning of the month, a polio case was discovered in a 4-year-old boy from Jerusalem. This is the first verified case in Israel since 1989. In the following days, a number of other cases were verified in the capital.
