From National Palacethe president, Claudia Sheinbaumhighlighted that today his governance celebrates that in the Constitution It was written that people with disabilities have the right to rehabilitation.
“In such a way that all girls and boys who for some reason have a disability, today access to rehabilitation is in the Constitution, it corresponds to all of us, but mainly to the Government of the Republic,” he commented.
Likewise, the president indicated that the Federal Government will maintain support for all people with disabilities in the country, so it will allocate 28 million pesosadded to the amount allocated to Telethon.
“support is maintained for all people with disabilities, next year there will be 28 million pesos, which will be dedicated to direct support to a family that has a person with a disability, it is an amount that I believe no other country in the world has,” he noted.
In her speech, the secretary of the Welfare, Ariadna Montielspecified that with the signing of the “Agreement between the Government of Mexico and the teletón Foundation”, it is estimated that 27 thousand girls and boys will receive free therapy in said institution.
“The Government of Mexico provides the resources for Fundación Teletón to provide these therapies. I recognize the disposition (of the foundation), when for the first time we talked about the Tlapa Telethon (of Comonfort), which became something very dear to the entire foundation; The mountain of Guerrero being one of the poorest places in the country, but also one with tough access, and it was achieved, (now) there are many children attending,” he highlighted.
Simultaneously occurring, Fernando Landerospresident of the Telethon Foundationrecognized the efforts of Federal Governmentand celebrated that the right for people with disabilities to have access to dignified and comprehensive rehabilitation has been elevated to constitutional rank.
