Program series of projects, 281 in number and wiht a total budget of 2.1 billion. euro, to upgrade and protect 66 municipalities of Attica, presented by the Regional Mayor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias, in the context of the 1st conference of the innovative platform “Athens Talk”.
“281 projects belong to 9 categories that touch all aspects of the daily life of citizens and for the implementation of wich we use resources from 19 different sources. Of these 280+1, we have designated 12 projects as major projects.”
The innovative program, with the central message “Man at the center of the modern city”, aims to improve the daily life of the citizens of Attica and is expected to be completed by 2028.
“With clear funding, a clear implementation schedule, obviously we will emphasize infrastructure projects especially in areas that have major problems such as Eastern Attica, Western Attica and the western sector,” he said.
“This event is innovative as it increases transparency, participation, but I believe it will also increase the effectiveness of all our activities,” said the Minister of National economy and Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis.
“Projects that offer many municipalities a breath of life, an enhancement in everyday life”, said the Minister of Environment and Energy, Thodoros Skylakakis.

The focus is on not just infrastructure but also enhancing public spaces, transportation, and community services. We foresee these efforts impacting the lives of residents substantially by 2028.

Nikos hardalias: A diversified funding strategy allows us greater flexibility and security. By employing multiple funding sources, we can mitigate risks associated with dependence on a single funding stream. This model strengthens our financial position and enables us to prioritize and execute projects effectively, especially in areas that suffer from historical neglect.

nikos Hardalias: The 12 major projects we’ve identified are significant due to their potential to bring about transformative change in the communities they serve. They have been chosen based on community needs, urgency, and anticipated impact.
