Lucknow: Lucknow Super Giants suffer a setback before the start of the IPL 15 season (IPL 2022). English pacer Mark Wood has been ruled out of the IPL season with a knee injury. Leading cricket website ESPN Cricinfo has reported that Wood will miss the IPL due to injury during the first Test against the West Indies.

Mark Wood has been brought to the Lucknow Super Giants camp for Rs 7.5 crore in the IPL megastar auction. In the match against the Windies, Wood was bowled out for only 17 overs due to injury. Wood’s absence will be a setback for the Lucknow franchise waiting to make its debut in the IPL. KL Rahul is the captain of the team coached by Andy Flower.

The curtain will fall on IPL 2022 with the Chennai Super Kings-Kolkata Knight Riders match on March 26 in Wankhede. In the case of the Kovid epidemic, all the matches will be against Mumbai and Pune. The 65-day season will feature 70 league games and four play-offs. The final will be held on May 29. The play-off schedule will be announced later.
