A brace from Loïs Openda and RB Leipzig emerged from their torpor by eliminating Bayern second in the Bundesliga.
Stalled for more than a month,RB Leipzig won 3-0 against Eintracht Frankfurt in the round of 16 of the German cup at home on Wednesday evening,giving coach Marco Rose a breath of fresh air.
The day after the elimination of Bayern, the Bundesliga leaders, by Bayer leverkusen, it was Eintracht Frankfurt, Munich’s first pursuer in the league (26 points against 30) who fell in the German Cup against RB Leipzig.
On Wednesday evening, the goals of Leipzig, two-time Cup winners in 2022 and 2023, were scored by Benjamin Sesko (31st) and Lois Openda (50th and 58th), served each time by the Norwegian nugget antonio Nusa.
Frankfurt had not lost since 19 October and lost 2-1 in the away game against leverkusen, putting together eight wins and a draw in all competitions, while leipzig had not won since the round of 16 of the Cup (4 -2 against Sankt Pauli).
For its second goal, Openda went to celebrate the brace with coach Marco Rose, under pressure after a negative series in the league (one point out of 12 possible in the last four matchdays) and in the Champions League (five defeats in as many matches ).
