protesters demand accountability on March 19

by time news

Originally against health measures, the demonstrations seem to have won: the vaccination pass is lifted, but not repealed. The people still have the sword of Damocles over their heads. Protesters are now demanding accountability; rallies have been declared throughout France.

Special weekend also for the Yellow Vests. One of the members historical and one of the biggest protest organizers in the capital, Nejeh Ben Farhat, died this week. The Yellow Vest had been in a coma for several weeks after a car accident, he finally succumbed to his injuries. Thus, in Paris, only two demonstrations of yellow vests are declared this Saturday, at 2:30 p.m. Place du Colonel Fabien and 1 p.m. Place Clichy.

On the manifestationgiletsjaunesparis.fr website, the Yellow Vests pay homage to him: “ Nejeh was a figure of the Parisian Yellow Vests, appreciated by all, he was a historic Yellow Vest present since the very beginning of the movement. With more than 140 demonstrations to his credit, Nejeh was an outstanding organizer, he was always at the head of the procession to ensure the smooth running of the demonstration, while letting the demonstrators do as they saw fit. It was in Paris the declarant of demonstrations who managed to bring in the most yellow vests, the most unifying. Always with his yellow vest, participating in a demonstration without a vest was inconceivable for Nejeh. »

This Saturday, March 19 is also a special day for the Freedom Race runners. This event will end today, in Paris. Raphaël Llodra traveled more than 700 km from Lourdes to Paris. They will be in Lésigny this afternoon, where they will sleep before leaving on Saturday morning around 10 a.m. The arrival in Paris is scheduled for the 19th, in front of the Sacré-Coeur, between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. depending on how the race progresses. We followed them this week for a day from Tuesday to Wednesday.
