The visiting Jelgava club defeated the tallinn “panther” 6:1 (1:0, 2:0, 3:1) in the fight for the first place in the tournament table.
At the end of the fifth minute, Mārtiņš Karsums made it 1:0 in favor of Jelgava, but scored two more goals in the 29th and 31st minutes.Karsum scored the first and third goals in the majority.
In the 42nd minute, Gustavs Miller made it 4-0, in the 45th minute Richards Bernhards scored the fifth goal, and in the 50th minute Gatis Gricinskis made it 6-0.
Karsums collected four (3+1) performance points, three (1+2) were collected by Gricinskis, two each by Miller (1+1) and defenders Renarts Jerods Alksnis and Artūrs Brikmanis (both – 0+2).
In the second game of the day, “Riga Hockey School” lost to “prizma” team 1:7 (0:2, 0:1, 1:4) at home.
Roberts Yekimovs scored three (1+2) points, Haralds Štrombergs, Emīls Ezītis (both – 2+0) and defender Krists apsītis (1+1) scored two each, while Jānis Zemītis also scored.
In the 56th minute, Kristiāns Utnāns scored the only goal for the home team, making it 1:6.
Jelgava “Zemgale”/LBTU has emerged as the leader in the tournament table with 28 points accumulated in 18 matches, “Mogo”/RSU has 27 points in 15 matches, and Tallinn ”Panter” has accumulated 26 points in 18 matches. riga “Prizma” has collected 17 points in 18 matches, Elektrēnu ”Energija” has 15 points in 18 matches, “Riga Hockey School” has nine points in 18 matches, and Vilnius “Hockey Punks” has scored five points in 13 matches.
Latvia is represented in the tournament by “Mogo”/RSU, “Rīgas hockey school”, “Zemgale”/LBTU and “Prizma”, Lithuania by Elektrēna “Energija” and Vilnius “7bet Hockey Punks”, and Estonia by Tallinn’s “Panter”.
The winner of the OHL playoffs will be crowned the Baltic champion, while the top-placed Latvian and Lithuanian teams will be recognized as the champions of their respective countries.
In the OHL championship, teams play a six-round tournament with 126 games played.
In the previous season, “Mogo”/RSU hockey players became the champions, beating the “Zemgale”/LBTU team 4-1 in the final series.
