In turn, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi confirmed that ⁣everyone agrees​ that a ⁤political dialogue‌ shoudl ‍begin between ‌the ‌Syrian government⁣ and legitimate opposition groups, ⁤as he put it.

Araqchi⁤ added, “There ​is agreement among ⁢all participants⁤ on the need to ⁣end⁣ the conflict in Syria and respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” and said: “We held ‍a‍ good meeting of the Astana group, in ‍which we ⁤discussed the⁣ current ​issues in Syria, which​ have become very ⁤serious.”

The three countries⁤ participate in⁣ the astana⁤ formula, which was launched years ago‌ in an effort ‍to silence the voice of weapons in Syria.
