The National Safety Authority confirmed that it is working with all its capabilities to remove water and rescue citizens stranded by water accumulations on the roads, inside the streets, and some homes that were flooded with water.
The Authority said in a post on its Facebook page that it had distributed teams from the Support center in the affected areas, using various mechanisms and equipment necessary to pump out water and evacuate citizens stuck in those water bodies.
the authority also indicated that all its teams are working to provide initial aid to affected citizens, and are coordinating with other government and relief agencies to provide shelter and necessary supplies for them.
A number of streets and roads in different regions of the country are witnessing large accumulations of rainwater resulting from the depression that is currently affecting the western region and will continue until Friday evening.
According to the Meteorological Center, through its media director, Mohieddin Ali, to al-Ahrar, the rain will be at its peak this evening and until tomorrow night in the western regions of the country, especially Greater Tripoli and its suburbs, with the valleys flowing and the sea raging on the western coast.
Ali called on the competent authorities to take the necessary measures and not leave citizens except when absolutely necessary,in order to preserve their safety.
