– It is indeed absolutely amazing to bring Guns N’ Roses to Trondheim. I believe it is indeed the biggest booking we have had as Bruce Springsteen performed here in 2016, says Stein Vanebo from Trondheim Stage to NRK.
The hard rockers from Los Angeles will play their only concert in Norway in “Paradise City,” also known as Trondheim, on July 2, 2025.
– It is sort of a soundtrack for many of us, no matter how old we are.
In 2018, the feud between Axl Rose and Slash was put behind them. Thus, they could, among other things, stand on the same stage again at Valle Hovin in Oslo.
Notorious rock band
Guns N’ Roses were one of the world’s biggest bands at the end of the 80s and the beginning of the 90s.
The band’s first studio album, ”Appetite for Destruction,” had major hits like “Welcome To The Jungle,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” and “Paradise City.” But several other songs have also become crowd favorites over time.
For a period, they played in arenas around the world. They actually sold tickets faster than both The Beatles and The rolling Stones at their peak.
But even though the band experienced huge success, they were also a rock band that lived their lifestyle to the fullest. It was sex, drugs, and rock and roll. There was so much
– What feels good to see is that now Slash and Axl are friends and hang out together, says Vanebo and continues:
– It truly seems like there is peace in the camp and has been for the last few years.
In 2016, the band members buried the hatchet and reunited. Since then, they have embarked on several tours.
The band has, among other things, performed in Oslo both in 2018 and 2023.they also visited Stavanger in 2022. This summer’s concert will be their first in Trondheim and the only one in Norway in 2025.
– You can expect the soundtrack you grew up wiht, and an overwhelming amount of sing-alongs. They have some songs that are deeply ingrained in our minds. They are not exactly stationary either, even though they have grown up over time.
In addition to Guns N’ Roses, the hip-hop legends Public Enemy will be guests.
Tickets will go on sale from Friday,December 13.
Concert organizer Stein Vanebo is very pleased to have the American hard rock band in Trondheim next year.
The ski arena Granåsen has not been used for concerts as Metallica performed there in 2019. But earlier this fall, Trondheim municipality and the organizer Trondheim Stage announced that the area will again be used for concerts.
In November, it was announced that Robbie Williams will perform as the second concert in Granåsen. he will be there on August 16.
Vanebo hopes that there will be more concerts there in the coming years.
– Bringing big artists to Norway and Trondheim is something we work on all the time, all year round, every year.
