Roc Nation, the entertainment powerhouse founded by rapper Jay-Z, remains a valued partner of the NFL despite recent rape allegations against the music mogul. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expressed unwavering support for Jay-Z, emphasizing the league’s continued collaboration with Roc Nation, particularly in the upcoming Super Bowl preparations.
Jay-Z, whose legal name is Shawn Carter, has vehemently denied the allegations, dismissing them as a baseless extortion attempt. He characterized the accusations as “idiotic” and “heinously untrue” through a statement issued by Roc Nation.
The NFL and Roc Nation joined forces in 2019, forging a partnership that includes event planning and social justice initiatives. This alliance was recently strengthened, demonstrating the league’s confidence in Jay-Z and his company.
As part of this ongoing partnership, Roc Nation, alongside Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins, will co-executive produce the highly anticipated Super Bowl halftime show, featuring a dazzling performance by Kendrick Lamar.
Adding to the excitement surrounding the NFL’s collaboration with Roc Nation and the Carter family, Beyoncé, Jay-Z’s wife and a 32-time Grammy winner, will grace the halftime stage during the Baltimore Ravens versus Houston Texans clash on Christmas Day.
“We’re incredibly comfortable working with Roc Nation on various events, not just the Super Bowl,” Goodell shared. “They’ve been instrumental in advising us and have been particularly helpful in promoting social justice initiatives. They’ve proven to be exceptional partners.”
