Hollywood heavyweights Giancarlo Esposito, Harold Perrineau, Taryn Manning, and Ryan Hurst have joined the cast of *”Out Come the Wolves,”* a gritty indie drama marking the directorial debut of seasoned producer Danny Peykoff.
Production is currently underway in Portland, Oregon, with Orlando Norman and Spence Moore II taking center stage, supported by a talented ensemble including Heidi Grace Engerman and Cassady McClincy Zhang. Sam Rechner, West Mulholland, and Curran Walters round out the impressive cast.
Set against the backdrop of the East Bay’s electric punk scene in the mid-1990s, *”Wolves”* delves into a world of raw determination and shattered dreams, where violence and desperation paint the landscape. Norman, Moore, Engerman, and Zhang portray a tight-knit group of high school friends yearning to break free from the confines of their impoverished city.
Esposito inhabits the role of a chillingly charismatic kingpin, his ruthlessness masked by a disarming demeanor and a sinister smile. Perrineau portrays Moore’s father, a man pinning all his hopes on his son’s promising baseball career.
Manning embodies Norman’s mother, a woman who openly struggles with the burdens of motherhood. Hurst delivers a powerful performance as an unhoused man battling addiction, yet possessing an uncanny insight into the world around him.
Drawing inspiration from the iconic 1995 album of the same name by punk rock legends Rancid, *”Wolves”* was penned by Peykoff in collaboration with Jason and Jamie Neese, the creative minds behind *”Umbrella Academy”*.
Peykoff and the Neese brothers team up as producers, along with Glenn Kleczkowski and Paul Hadad.
Esposito, renowned for his captivating portrayal of villains in AMC’s acclaimed *”Breaking Bad”* and *”Better Call Saul”*, continues to leave his mark on the world of entertainment. He has also graced the screen in the Star Wars series *”The Mandalorian”*. This year, Esposito lent his talents to Ford Coppola’s sci-fi epic *”Megalopolis”*, A24’s *”MaXXXine”*, and Universal’s monster thriller *”Abigail”*. Fans can anticipate his next villainous turn in Marvel Studios’ *”Captain America: Brave New World”*, slated for release on February 14, 2025.
Perrineau, a familiar face from the groundbreaking *”Lost”*, garnered a well-deserved 2020 NAACP Image Award for his outstanding performance in TNT’s *”Claws”*
Manning, with credits including *”8 Mile”* and *”Hustle & Flow”*, has cultivated a prominent presence on television in recent years, gracing shows like *”Orange Is the New Black”* and *”Hawaii Five-O”*
Hurst is perhaps best recognized for his memorable roles in FX’s *”Sons of Anarchy”* and *”The Walking Dead”*. He is also part of the sprawling cast of Netflix’s upcoming western series *”The Abandons”*.
Esposito is repped by CAA, Sugar23, and Jackoway Austen, while Perrineau is repped by Strand Entertainment and Felker Toczek. Manning is repped by Established Artists and Hurst is repped by UTA and Piper Kaniecki Marks.
