Nintendo Adds Tetris DX to Switch online’s Game Library
In a surprising update, Nintendo has added Tetris DX to its library of titles available on the Nintendo Switch Online service. This addition caught many gamers off guard, as expectations were varied following previous reports about upcoming releases.
As a longtime fan of the franchise, the introduction of Tetris DX is exciting, especially considering it’s a version I have yet to play. one of my favorite elements so far is the enchanting music box rendition of the Tetris Records theme featured in this game.
The addition of Tetris DX prompts a closer look at the extensive collection of Tetris games currently accessible on the Nintendo Switch. Here’s a complete list:
- Tetris 99
- Tetris Effect: Connected
- Tetris Forever - a collection featuring 17 games plus Tetris Time Warp
- Puyo Puyo Tetris
- Puyo Puyo Tetris 2
- Nintendo’s NES Tetris (via Nintendo Switch Online)
- Tetris (Game Boy) (via Nintendo Switch Online)
- Tetris DX (via Nintendo Switch Online)
- Tetris: The Grand Master (via Arcade Archives)
- Tetris: The Absolute – The grand Master 2 Plus (via Arcade Archives)
- tetris Diamond (available only in Japan via G-Mode Archives)
With these titles combined, there are a total of 27 distinct Tetris games available on the Switch (28 if you include Tetris Time Warp). For those interested in further game history, Panel de Pon, known in the West as Tetris Attack, deserves a mention, along with the Tetris representation found in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
