DNT Announces Leadership Transition as Dag Terje Klarp Solvang Steps Down as Secretary General

The​ Norwegian Trekking Association announces today that Dag Terje Klarp Solvang will ⁤resign⁢ as secretary general on December 31, 2024. Solvang has been secretary general‍ of DNT as 2018.

– Dag Terje has done an excellent job⁣ at DNT over many years.He has represented the institution with great commitment and broad knowledge, and DNT has ⁢made quantum leaps both⁣ digitally and organizationally with him as ⁢secretary general. Now, though, we have come to the conclusion that‌ the time has come for a change. This is due to differing views on internal management, says the chairman of DNT, per Hanasand.

Klarp Solvang says he wants to express his gratitude for the ​years at DNT.

– I am very proud of what⁢ we have achieved ‌in the last six years, and I⁤ would like to take this opportunity‍ to thank my splendid colleagues and partners for the journey. I respect the board’s right to decide who leads DNT at any given time.

The ​board of DNT is now starting the process ‍of recruiting a new secretary ⁤general. From January 1st until a new secretary general is in place, Tor ⁤Kåpvik, who is currently the head of digitalization and finance, ‌will⁢ serve as acting secretary general to ensure continuity in‌ the organization’s work.
